About Me

Hello! I’m Anne

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Oregon.  For nearly 20 years, I have provided mental health services to people of all ages and in various settings (from rural to urban).  Currently, I specialize in adolescent and adult individual therapy services.

Change is often challenging, but it is a crucial part of becoming the person you are intended to be.  My hope is to provide support to others in making changes that lead to lives filled with intention, purpose, and joy.

Communication

Therapy is an opportunity for the client and me to identify obstacles and challenges that are getting in the way of his/her overall happiness.  Then, we work together to reduce or eliminate those obstacles.  For many, challenges often include difficulty setting and keeping healthy relational boundaries, excessive worrying, ongoing sadness, and struggles with communicating feelings and needs.  Through the counseling process, clients can identify, learn, and practice new skills to deal with their difficult feelings or circumstances more effectively.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How Can I Help

What is counseling?

I view counseling as an opportunity for us to identify and address unanticipated barriers or challenges that are getting in the way of you living a fulfilling and happy life.  My job is to work with you through listening closely to your experiences, identifying what has and has not been working, and finding solutions that help you grow beyond these barriers.

When should I seek a counselor?

People seek counseling for various reasons and at different stages of life. I find that people benefit most from counseling when life problems arise that are overwhelming or difficult to manage. Counseling can provide a safe place to brainstorm, gain support, and problem solve. Participating in counseling does not mean you are broken or helpless. Rather, counseling is a place to build on your current strengths, learn new ideas, and try a different approach in order to make life fulfilling and happy.

What can I expect as a counseling client?

In our first session, we will complete a 60-minute Intake Assessment where I will ask you a number of questions to gain a better understanding of what your main concerns are and how I can be of help.  We we also establish treatment goals.  From this point on, we will meet for regular therapy sessions, 50-60 minutes in length, where I will implement a number of techniques to help you reach your goals.
